Delta faces more problems.
Passengers on Delta flights better stock up at the airport on water and food because Gate Gourmet cut off service to the airline yesterday forcing the airline to give out food vouchers to some passengers at airports. Gate Gourmet supplies the bulk of Delta's in-flight food and beverages. A Delta spokeswoman said it was a contract dispute but would not give details. She did say the airline was making arrangements with other vendors but some passengers will be inconvenienced. It could be that Gate Gourmet wanted payment up front for deliveries because of the airline's comments about filing for bankruptcy. Delta has been serving meals in first class on flights over two hours and in economy on flights over three hours. It also offers food for sale on certain flights.
